Description
Summary:碩士 === 明道大學 === 設計學院碩士班 === 99 === The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze the environmental communication curriculum from a systematic approach for Aowanda Nature Center in Taiwan.. The study incorporated action research, interview, and a questionnaire design for need assessment. Based on Hockings et al., (2006)’s suggestion on communicating resource values, namely the values, importance/significance, and threats and pressure that the site faced, the study designed a survey to collect stakeholders suggestions for curriculum themes. Thirty questionnaires were collected among site managers, researchers, environmental educators, and school teachers who have had close connection with Aowanda Forest Recreation Area. Results suggested from the four themes for environmental communication curriculum planning for Aowanda Nature Center including “the past and future of forest management” , “river bed sedimentation”, and “illegal poaching.” The perspectives expressed by the primary and secondary school teachers were quite different from on-site environmental educators. To achieve the ultimate goals of environmental education and communication on site, the study suggested a more systematic approach might be more beneficial for long-term curriculum planning.
