碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 國際政治研究所 === 99 === This thesis attempts to outline the evolution of three modern models of Secessionist Terrorism in three countries which facing the racial segregation by means of describing their development. They are Irish Republican Army in Ireland, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka, and ETA in Spain. They are also the most destructive and remarkable ones of the secessionist terrorism groups. At first, it is going to confer the reasons for the rise of the separatism and its background of social structure. Secondly, I’ll discuss the factors which made the separatism turn to taking the way of terrorism, and the gradual change and development of secessionist terrorism groups. And then, it analyzes the response strategies from local governments and international society toward the actions of terrorism and the influence to the secessionist terrorism groups. Eventually, it concludes the solutions that modern nation-state can take to deal with when facing and confronting with secessionist terrorism problems.
