Twenty high school male basketball players participated in this study (age: 16.97±0.49 years old; height: 182.15±4.43 cm; weight: 72.45±10.92kg). They were randomly grouped into plyometric and complex group. Each group had ten participants. Training protocol was two times a week for total eight weeks. Paired T-test was used to analyzed to compare the differences of lower extremity maximum voluntary contraction, vertical jump height, single-leg stop jump, standing long jump, 30m sprinting, and 4-point suicide running between before and after the training program. Independent T-test was used to compare the differences of all variables between two groups. Significant level was set at α=0.05. Results: 1. All the variables were significantly improved after eight weeks both plyometric and complex training(p<0.05). 2. The improvements of all the variables were significantly higher in complex training than in plyometric training. According to our findings, both these two trainings could enhance the lower extremity muscle strength and power; further, the effect of complex training was better than plyometric training.
