The purposes of this study is to explore the differences
and correl ations between the mot ivat ion of program-taking
and vocational self-concept based on the factors of the
individual, family, and school for junior high school
students who take the technique educat ion program. The
questionnaire approach with stratified random sampling is
applied for this study. There are totally 976 questionna ire
delivered to the students taking the cooperative technique
education program in central Taiwan. Consequently, there
are 767 questionnaires valid and the effective questionnair e
ratio is 78%.
The statistical methods used to analyze the data are
descriptive statistics, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Person’s
corre l a tion, and Scheffe posteriori comparisons.
The conclusions of th is study are as following:
1 . In general, after having participated in the cooperative
technical education program, the students are with
positive motivation on program-taking. Besides, the
vocational self-concept is above the average .
2 . Depending on gender, career planning, parents'
educational level , school location and school scale, the
junior high school students living in central Taiwan have
significantly various motivations to take cooperative
technical education program.
3 . Counting on gender, careerp lanning, school location and
school scale, the junior high school students living in
central Taiwan have significant differences of

vocational self-concept to take cooperat i ve technical
education program.
4 . There is significant positive corr e lation between
technical educat ion program-taking mot ivat ion and
vocational self-concept for junior high school students
living incentral Taiwan.
