The Cryptomeria japonica (sugi) and Leucaena leucocephala (white popinac) have been used for making pellet. Furthermore, we use several raw materials such as bark residue, wood residue and pulping sludge as the factor of raw material to understand the best conditions of pelletization. In order to examine the properties of pellet, the sugi, white popinac and pulping sludge have been used for making pellet through mixing bark residue. In addition, in order to understand manufacturing method, the 30mm pellet has been made from white popinac with adding wheat flour. All of raw materials have been tested the moisture content, pH value, the slenderness ratio and bulk density before pelletization. The results showed that the moisture content of untreated raw material ranged from 27.8% to 361.7%. The pH value of raw material ranged from 4.9 to 7.8. The slenderness ratio of raw material ranged from 49.2 to 92.6. The bulk density of raw material ranged from 218 kg/m3 to 359 kg/m3. The flat die pellet mill has been used after finishing size distribution analysis. The results showed that the best yield of single raw material is 86.1% for PS and the best yield of mixing raw material is 81.1% for PSB. The length-diameter ratio, air-dry density, oven-dry density, moisture content, bulk density, heating value, ash content, and TGA analysis have been conducted and commercial pellet has been used as control. The results are as following: The best length-diameter ratio of pellet from each test condition is higher than the length-diameter ratio of commercial pellet. The density of pellet related to moisture content control. Beside the pulping sludge pellet, the oven-dry density of all of the pellet is lower than commercial pellet. The bulk density of pellets ranged from 263.2 kg/m3 to 767.2 kg/m3. The heating value of pellets ranged from 3237 cal/g to 4569 cal/g. The ash content of pellets ranged from 0.32% to 27.3%. The Pyrolysis of most of pellet occurred between 270~550℃. The char residue content from TGA-DTG analysis in air conditions ranged 0.36% to 26.0%. Hong-Ding Soong 宋洪丁 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW
