This case study investigates a 3-dimensional virtual reality environment used to support Readers Theater, covering the aspects of context, role play, and real-time voice communication. The participants received reading instruction for forty minutes per class over a twelve week period (forty-three classes). Data was collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, reflection logs, chat logs, video, documents, and an English reading comprehension test. This form of instruction made language learning more fun and interesting, and the findings indicate that participants progressed in reading comprehension, while developing a positive learning attitude through interaction with peers in shared CVE activities.
