The three-dimensional laser scanning modeling is using 3D portable laser scanner and 3D foot laser scanner to build high-resolution models. The multi-view image modeling is use 3D camera box and 3D software object modeler to build models. The 3D portable laser scanner can build the high resolution 3D model with resolution 0.3mm, because it is a portable device, so it is more convenient for the application of large or complex object to overcome most of the blind vision when it is scanning. The 3D foot laser scanner with resolution 0.9mm that can scan and automatically synthesis a 3D model within 6.5 seconds. It is suitable for applications of small objects that need a 3D model of high-precision scanning in a short time. The 3D camera box and 3D software object modeller are suitable for applications of quick building 3D models with low cost, low resolution and low accuracy. Generally, the 3D camera box modeling process is simple for operation, while the 3D software object modeller has a vertical view that is able to overcome the shadowing effect. To verify the possibility of application, we have completed 3D laser scanning of a large stone model, and then used the rapid prototyping to make a reduced mold for duplicating some glass products.
