Specifically, there were three main purposes of this Action Research. First, by combining the digital arts teaching with “Super Hero Comics”, it manifested and developed a teaching plan for special art education at the primary school in which the action research took place. Second, by adapting the digital arts teaching with the main theme, the researcher was able to review and examine the required skills and abilities of the teacher. Third, the researcher was able to reflect on professional growth from the implementation of the research. The subjects of the study were sixth graders from a special art education at the primary school. These participants were recruited and taught the three units from the art teaching plan which was devised through discussion and implementation of the research. In order to implement the digital art teaching a teacher’s literacy and ability should include: the teacher’s “comic experiences”; traditional drawing experiences and focus was placed on the students’ initiative. In addition to the above, individual differences was emphasized with the teacher only providing technical guidance. Finally, the teacher’s computer skills and usage of graphics software were also vital. Multiple assessment strategies were used to evaluate the teaching. Finally, according to the research conclusion, the study recommended suggestions for the future and reflects that schools should emphasize both hardware and software maintenances upon the implementation of future studies.
