One sixth-grade class of 17 students at Jhong Sing Elementary School in Yilan County participated in this action research on integrating the community culture resources into school’s paper craft curriculum consisting of 20 paper craft lessons. The results of this research are: Integrating the community culture resources into paper craft curriculum can help students to explore community events voluntarily, raise their interests of learning paper craft lessons, improve their awareness of the community culture,and reinforce their skills of paper operating abilities. Analysis of students’ work , students’ skills of cutting,tearing,folding and pasting are improved through this paper craft curriculum. On the aspect of students’ work forms, students can overcome the difficulties of making the plane manufacture and the three-dimensional combination to enhance the work’s completeness. On the meaning of students’ works can find out not only to presenting the images of the community products, but also to making use of the daily decorations; meanwhile, through this paper craft curriculum can help teachers to place importance on the cognition of community culture and to use the community culture resources into their curriculum.Using these teaching strategies can promote teachers’ professional knowledge and teaching skills.
