Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 人資處社會學習領域碩士班 === 99 === ABSTRACT This study chose over-subscribed and unsubscribed public elementary schools in Taipei County as the subjects and adopted a qualitative experimental method. In this study, each of the schools was evaluated by the SWOT analysis followed by a semi-structured interview, which was the major experiment tool. The purpose of the interview was to gain insights into the operational condition of school management and school marketing. Conclusions and suggestions were drawn based on the study results, and can be used by schools as a reference for school management and school marketing. Here are the conclusions from analyzing the study findings: I. The geographic location of a school could affect the cultural and economic level of residents in that school district. It could also become a driven force for school district development and create a high quality school image. Among various geographic conditions, those schools at educational districts attracted more students because they could offer a better learning environment and resource. II. Most teaching facilities of over-subscribed and unsubscribed schools in this study qualified the teaching requirements; those over-subscribed school buildings adopted an open campus plan and the design of their teaching environment was accommodative and flexible, which could facilitate teaching and provide students a broader activity space. III. From a community ecological perspective, parents of over-subscribed school students and those of unsubscribed school students showed different eco-social backgrounds as well as a varied level of attention on their children’s education. Parents of over-subscribed school students were more concentrated on a multi-dimensional learning and development, whereas parents of unsubscribed school students requested a higher standard for the disciplines. These attitudes of parents could affect the direction of school development. Also, the length of school development and the age of the teachers could also influence the school-community interactions as well as the community resource utilization. IV. The administrative planning of over-subscribed schools was first drafted by the administrative office, handed to teachers for discussion and feedbacks, discussed in the inter-departmental coordinating meeting, and finally implemented. This procedure enabled members of the organization to fully comprehend the subject matter of the activity and therefore facilitated the implementation of the plan as well as reduced bad communication. V. Teachers of over-subscribed schools would voluntarily form various clubs for cultivating a more multi-dimensional competence and enhancing the relationship among the members. Teachers of unsubscribed schools on the other hand would arrange teaching demonstrations for sharing their experiences in teaching; yet the approach for demonstration should satisfy the requirements of the teachers to avoid becoming merely a demonstration. VI. Over-subscribed schools hold a strong administrative team, developed various after-school talent classes, were ranked as the top in the performance evaluation, offered a variety of club activities for students, obtained excellent results from many competitions, and commonly recommended by the county government for media interviews. Unsubscribed schools, on the other hand, organized art festivals featuring their schools’ characteristics and offered a performance stage for their students. Also unsubscribed school principals often put efforts in developing the blogs that were highly valued by the teachers and parents.
