Summary: | 碩士 === 南華大學 === 生死學研究所 === 99 === The thesis of this study is the life-world of new female immigrants in Taiwan. A family with five new female immigrants in central Taiwan rural area were selected as research participants by purpose-sampling method. It adopted hermeneutic-phenomenology as the research method. The empirical data were collected through field participation and observation in the family as well as depth-interviews with new female immigrants of the family . Then, the empirical data was analyzed and interpreted to find out the life, self-feelings, and adjustment level of new female immigrants in transnational marriage, and how they got over the difficult position in their lives. The results of this study is to provide a base-comprehension for helping the new female immigrants.
The results of this study showed (1) As standing on different environment, new female immigrants in transnational marriage sustained significant impact on the body and mind. Except facing the cultural conflict from the movement of environment, also have to face the pressure of authority from the society transition. Under the influence of commercialized, infamy marriage, the self-identity of these women was repressed, and made they doubt their self-existence value. (2) The open-mind, support, understanding, and acceptation from family can provide strength for new female immigrants to adapt their lives. That is, attitude of husband and family would be the main factor to influence new female immigrants’ life adaptation. (3) The key point is these women could find their existence value in the adaptation process, this is also the power of living. Pursuing meaning and value is a successive process, they still continued to seek the self-existence value in their own happiness. (4) Base on family system viewpoint, there was multidimensional influence on new female immigrants’ family interaction. With the rich experience, families learn how to get along with new female immigrants. As well, new female immigrants could share their experience with each other, and inherit, produce the positive supportive system.
