Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 工業科技教育學系 === 99 === In the era of “globalization of goods,” the expansion of information technology affects our life in every aspect. The D&T (Design and Technology) teaching programs in the UK and the K-12 EiE (Engineering is Elementary) programs in the USA are cases indicating that technological development has extended to primary schools. Therefore, it is crucial for schools in Taiwan to re-evaluate and adjust the curricula and contents to cope with the challenges of the new era. This study aimed to investigate the effects of the Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) teaching on technology education programs in primary schools. Using CAD as the learning scaffold, the programs tried to nurture the students with design and conceptual abilities through properly designed lesson plans and course implementation. The students in the fifth grade were chosen as the research subject. The CAD teaching materials designed and developed by the researcher were taught to the students weekly. The project of designing a “stationery case” was assigned to each student by way of Project-Based Learning (PBL). Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected and sorted during the research. The data were analyzed by four tools created by the researcher: the CAD software application test, the CAD evaluation sheet, the questionnaire for CAD learning feedback, and the evaluation chart for students’ work. The findings are as follows: 1. This research has developed CAD technology education programs suitable for the fifth grade students in primary schools. In addition, using PBL method in engineering design can assist students establishing design and drafting concepts. 2. The research has achieved better learning effects of CAD teaching on engineering education. Besides, the effects have inspired better learning motives in engineering education. In the meantime, based on the results, the researcher proposed some suggestions on technological education, teaching, and future studies.
