Reasonable energy usage is of unspeakable importance to people’s lives, society developments and the national security. Taiwan’s economic developments in the recent three decades relied heavily on energy. Through several energy reforms, this fact remains fundamentally unchanged. The annual carbon emissions in Taiwan’s energy consumption grew from 3.96 tons/person in 1980 to 13.3 tons/person in 2008. By comparison, the world average annual carbon emissions in the same period, grew from 4.15 tons/person in 1980 to 4.54 tons/person in 2008 (EIA, 2010). Whether to react to the threat of global climate changes, or respond to the pressures to reduce green house gas emissions, or address the worries of decrease in stored energy, if Taiwan doesn’t seek aggressive measures to improve its energy usage, it will be under higher pressure and more severe impact in the future. This research explores Taiwan power’s possible strategies and methods to find sustainable energy in the wave of global warming. This research lays out perspectives and solutions in line with Taiwan power’s future government policies. Besides, it hopefully can provide the citizens and policy executors with some solution and suggestion for the future policy by analyzing the problems.
