Environmental practices are greatly depended on cooperation of self-motivated employees. If employees have organizational citizenship behavior characteristics, employees will do something which are beneficial to organizations.
The aim of this study is to explore the antecedent factors of organizational citizenship behaviors (OCB), such as social network, group identity, organizational commitment, in green environmental industry. Further, this study also examines the relationships between above antecedent factors and organizational citizenship behaviors. In this study, organizational citizenship behaviors are distinguished into two levels: organizational citizenship behaviors – individuals (OCBI) and organizational citizenship behaviors – organizations (OCBO).
Object samples of this study are firms who have ISO14001 environmental certification and firms in green energy industry. The results are as following: (1) social network is positively related to OCBI; (2) group identity is positively related to OCBO; (3) organizational commitment is positively related to OCBI and OCBO. The findings indicate that different level of OCB has different antecedent factors and make up the gap in OCB in environmental research domain.
