Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 文化創意產業學系 === 99 === Abstract Hakka people worship the god of land and name this god respectfully as Land-Lord , who is in charge of protection of land, crops harvest and in addition employment, children growth, marriage as well as traveling. The wide distribution of Land-Lord shrine makes it convenient for Hakka people to worship this important god. Therefore Land-Lord enjoys more worshipping and offerings. There are close, frequent inter-communications between people and Land-Lord. The study applies grounded theory in characterization study to conduct in-depth interviews with people in Er-lun village. The contents of interviews is organized, analyzed and conduced to explore and study the connections between Land-Lord shrine and living requirements of villagers, the symbolic meaning in the mind of villagers about work of Land-Lord, how the mind of villagers is stabilized and settled through the belief in Land-Lord, inter-empathy between villagers and Land-Lord through worshipping functions, and the symbolic meaning of offerings in worshipping activities. Through the study, we can further understand the symbolic meaning of Er-Lun Land-Lord in the mind of Er-Lun villagers. The study finds that in the Land-Lord worshipping activities among Er-Lun villagers, the Land-Lord is viewed symbolically as family elderly in terms of Land-Lord shrine settings, identification of Land-Lord work, the protective capabilities of Land-Lord and offerings given for Land-Lord worshipping. Therefore Land-Lord is so close to the daily life of Er-Lun villagers, being worshipped respectfully as a god whereas taken as a close family elderly. Even though Times changes, and the settings of shrine, worshipping way of people and the offerings might also change. However what remain unchangeable are the close, intimate feeling shared with Land-Lord, the deepest trust in Land-Lord, the great natural respect towards Land-Lord, and most importantly Land-Lord remains to be the best medicine and solace for the mind of villagers.
