Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 環境工程與科學系所 === 99 === In this study, laboratory and pilot reactors were operated to test the SS, COD and phosphorus removals by the blast oxygen furnace (BOF) slag as a packing material in the constructed wetland. The results show that the removals of ortho and total phosphates are more than 95%. Its can also remove 80~85% of COD, more than 80% of BOD and more than 90% of SS. When water flows through BOF slag, the effluent pH increases to more than 13. Thus, operation modes were tested to solve the pH increase in the effluent of slag reactor. The pH decrease to below 8.5 after passing more than 70 pore volumes (PVs) of water. The laboratory-scaled slag reactor followed by a constructed wetland of plants and acid soils can further reduce the effluent pH by 1~2 units. The results from the laboratory BOF slag reactor reveal that there are no differences between the continuous-flow and the pulsed-flow operations in pH decreasing pattern and orthophosphate removal. In addition, the pH decrease pattern is also similar to the pilot BOF slag reactor on site. The BOF slag releases trace Cr ion only in the range of 0.029±0.007 mg/L. The overall results show that BOF slag is a suitable material to be used as the filling material of the constructed wetland to remove pollutants in water.
