Research data is collected through interviews, observation and research diaries with principals, directors, students and parents. Both saxophone ensembles for the two elementary schools have different developmental processes, establishing backgrounds, training approaches, performance contents and styles, predicaments and visions, however, they do share some commonality. In terms of developmental processes and establishing backgrounds, both schools have highly enthusiastic instructors that offer administrative support, although the funding provided by the administrative units was not worth noting, and they were awarded two years after their founding when participating in music competitions, and the number of members of both ensembles were about two to three percent of their target groups. As for the ensembles'' training, performance content and characteristics, both schools start training new members from third and fourth grades, and the training process for the new members lasts for one year, and both schools have a diverse reservoir of songs and can select suitable songs according to the occasion. As for their predicament and vision, both schools face a shortage of funding, the instructors are required to multitask while the students are yet to have crucial instruments or a need to arrange for their own instruments, but they both share the same vision that is hopefully to create their own style and lifetime education.
