Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 99 === The study was to evaluate the effects of jumping rope training on the motor coordination ability of the 6th-grade elementary school students. Subjects are children from two classes at same elementary school. The experimental group had a twelve-week jumping rope training, 3 sessions a week and 30-minute training per session, using the Basic Jump (Once Under) with intensity at 60 to 90% of HRmax about 125 to 187 jumps per minute. The control group, however, did not have any exercise training at all. Before and after training, the subjects were tested balance backwards, jumping sideways and shifting platforms sidewise for coordination ability as sense of balance, agility, speed, muscle strength, coordination, etc. Statistical methods including mean, standard deviation, percentage, and ANOVA were used with a level of significance at α=.05. The following results were found: 1) the motor coordination ability in the experimental group improved significantly (p < .05) and the control group did not change after post-test; and 2) compared with control group, the experimental group performed better for all tests after training (p < .05). Conclusion: The rope jumping training can improve the motor coordination ability of elementary school students. If children do not develop the motor ability gradually with their age, through rope jumping activities might effectively help them to develop coordination. Therefore, it is suggested that rope jumping training can be applied to improve coordination and the efficiency of motor skills for children and help them to develop a higher level sports skills in the future.
