By collecting, analyzing and investigating related studies, the theoretical foundation and related meaning and connotations of self-concept and learning adaptability were better understood. Standardization test tools such as scales of self-concept and learning adaptability were used and analyzed by sending 410 questionnaires to the interviewees. 402 copies were returned for a return rate of 98.04%. Effective samplings were 379. After data analysis, the conclusions drawn are as follows: 1. The status of self-concept of senior students at elementary school is outstanding; their self-aspect of family is very high and self-aspect of appearance is quite low. There is much room for improvement; 2. The self-concept of school for female senior students is higher than that of male senior students. The self-concept of body for male senior students is higher than that of female senior students. The self-concept of the 5th grade students is higher than that of 6th grade students; 3. There is no big impact on self-concept of students from different family structures. Based on the education attitude of parents, the self-concept of students from families where democratization is stressed is higher than those from authoritarian families; 4. The status of learning adaptability of senior students at elementary school is outstanding; their learning environment aspect is very high and the learning method aspect is quite low. There is much room for improvement; 5. The learning adaptability of female senior students is higher than that of male senior students; there is no significant difference between the 5th and the 6th grade students. There is no significant variance of learning adaptability for students from different family structures. Students from families where democratization is stressed have higher learning adaptability than those from authoritarian families; 6. There is a positive correlation between self-concept and learning adaptability. According to the study results, concrete proposals were raised as future reference for teachers, parents, schools and educational institutes.
