Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 多媒體動畫藝術學系碩士班 === 99 === The use of elements found in modern cities as themes for video art has always been a topic of great interest for artists. And, with the advent of digital art, interactive technologies have opened even more possibilities for the interpretation of images. Presented through digital media, interactive mechanisms, and virtual images, the work, “Intervene,” is an immersive video art installation. Tapping the perspectives of viewers, the work exhibits scenes of an underpass, while simultaneously forming the projections of peoples’ memories within it. The interactive aspects of the technologies involved subvert the perspective between viewers and the work itself. Through this way, viewers also become the viewed. This paper discusses interactive video art’s development, form, time and virtual elements. “Intervene” communicates its creative concepts and methods through interactive video, intervenient digital media, multimedia, immersive video realities, viewer perspectives, and imagery of underpasses. This work stimulates even deeper thought about the interpersonal connection amongst people passing through an underpass.
