But often one can not recall the exact park position, especially after long time work or activities, in public parking lots which is opened to citizen and ruled without specified or fixed parking position. The larger area and highly complexity of the parking lots, the more excessive time need to search and find the parked car early. An intelligent parking lots management system based on the shortest path between driver and park position was developed in this thesis for picking the parked car easily and instantly. The Car-searching system is started up after the driver, who will leave the parking lot, inputs the car number plates. The system would search the relative information from the database which combined by named “Digital Video Surveillance Equipment System”, capturing car number plates, and “Identified System of License Plate” which converted the image information to parking lots database. The completed Vehicle Identification System serves the searching need and provides the accurate specified car position, meanwhile the system can be linked to main vehicle database of the civil government or police office to identify the vehicle status.
