In addition, this paper discusses how Dragon Dancing is evolved from ceremonial ritual in the folk culture into a sporting event. Furthermore, the introduction of Dragon Dancing to the elementary campus, the transfiguration and the expansion as well as the connection between the Hakka culture and the multi-Dragon Dancing activities will be discussed in this paper. I have taken lead Dragon Dancing training in several elementary schools in Miaoli County and participated in its expansion and promotion on campus for many years. Qualitative research methods are applied in my research which begins with a literature review, analyzing the association of Hakka culture with Dragon Dancing, followed by a series of interviews with parents, government officials, school principals and coaches as well as filed observations in an attempt to explore how the communication network on Sports Dragon Dancing is established during its expansion and promotion in schools. The analysis of success factors of Dragon Dancing competitions in schools will also be measured. The results of this study are as follows: 1) Development of Dragon Dancing in Miaoli: Miaoli Dragon Bombing is the cultural inheritance developed from Han’s Dragon Lantern Dancing. Under the management, marketing and promotion of the government, Dragon Bombing becomes associated with Hakka and is one of the twelve major festivals in the regions today. 2) The childhood memories on “welcoming the dragons” are resurrected, thanks to the educational taskforce promoting Dragon Dancing in elementary schools in Miaoli, with financial supports from the government. With the ardent promoters from the educational institutions setting up campus Dragon Dancing clubs, the Dragon Dancing network comes into shape, allowing Dragon Dancing to thrive on campus in Miaoli and to reach out to the regions and the world in different aspects. 3) Step by step, the development of Dragon Dancing becomes more secular rather than sacred. The arising of sports Dragon Dancing on campus provides an opportunity to transforms all the religious techniques common in the traditional Dragon Bombing, such as god-like creatures, dotting worship, paste Dragon taboos, into a more complex sporting event with a combination of dancing, gymnastics and martial arts. These transformations define Dragon Dancing as a delicate and artistic sporting event. 4) The key of the Dragon Dancing’s successful expansion among campus in Miaoli is because there’re a group of dedicated and passionate education teams who put in hours in the event and the government who provides funding, platform and innovative opportunities. . Overall, to liberate Dragon Dancing from its stagnant and sluggish expansion requires the integration of government resources, campus Dragon Dancing teams’ experience sharing, Sports University’s learning materials development, train the trainer program as well as synchronizing objectives of all the Dragon Dancing Associations.
