Backlight module adopts edge type design to develop ultra-thin application. This essay mainly discusses about the disadvantage of edge type design to reduce hot spot issue. This research will discuss about two parts, the first part is optical application theory—to presume possible optical reaction of LED components by adopting refraction, reflection and total reflection theory. The second part is about the application of optical simulation software—TracePro. By using this software to simulate the optical result and graph analysis of LED sample. Finally, the simulated database of view angle and lighting efficiency according to paralleled and horizontal lighting surface will be correlated to assure that LED components used in edge type backlight module will concentrate the light more efficiently resulting from horizontal lighting surface by changing lead frame curvature in both sides to successfully shrink view angle. 陳文瑞 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 65 zh-TW
