Description
Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 體育學系運動教練碩博士班 === 99 === The purpose of this study was to compare the kinematic differences between fastball and knuckleball pitching, and the consistency within its movement. EVaRT4.4 Motion Analysis System was utilized to capture 10 fastball and 10 knuckleball pitches thrown by a collegiate pitcher in Chinese Culture University baseball varsity team during the experiment. Intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) was to examine the uniformity of the pitching movement of fastball and knuckleball separately, and the descriptive statistic was applied in order to compare the kinematic differences between the two different pitches. Both fastball and knuckleball pitching evinced high relevance in each trial. 26 kinematic parameters at foot contact during the arm-cocking and arm-acceleration phases, and at ball release were measured, approximately 50% of the parameters exhibit conspicuous difference between fastball and knuckleball pitching. In conclusions, baseball batters may have the best opportunity to identify knuckleball pitching by its less lateral trunk tilt characteristic, and pitchers may learn the traits of knuckleball pitching through the current study.
