The multimedia contents will not only motivate learners but facilitate learning. Moreover, such course materials break the boundaries of time and place. Learners will be able to learn at their own pace according to their personal learning needs. However, creating such creative learning environment needs to take learners’ difference into consideration. In the study, the participants were divided into four learning styles according to Kolb’s Learning Style Inventory. The course material was designed by Articulate software. The purpose of the study was to understand learners’ academic performance and attitude toward the electronic course material designed for the study with different learning styles. The electronic course material included text-picture and text-video. A total of 206 students in the Department of Information Communications at Chinese Culture University participated in the study. The results showed that (a) there was no difference among different learning styles in academic scores; (b) there was no difference in learning satisfaction among different learning styles. Most learners preferred text-video electronic learning materials; (c) there is a significant difference in sex in the diverger group; (d) females performed better academically in the study; (e) there is low relationship between the course satisfaction and test scores; (f) there was a significant difference in scores between control and experimental groups. The results of the study will provide recommendations for instructors to design their electronic course materials and for future research.
