Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 管理碩士在職專班 === 99 === The operational performances of banks’ branches in Shalu District are investigated in this study under data envelopment analysis (DEA) method from 2005 to 2007.The empirical results show that the older bank’s branch, Taichung Port Brach of Taiwan Bank, has the relatively better performances in five categories which are total amount in saving, total amount in loan, total amount in exchange, earnings and fees from 2005 to 2007. Using DEA analyzing the operational performances from 2005 to 2007, I find Land Bank and Mega International Commercial Bank receiving the best efficiency value among three efficiency categories. After dividing all branches into two sub-samples which are established before 1991 and after 1991, the results show that the average efficiency values of branches established after 1991 are better than the average efficiency values of branches established before 1991 in 2005 and 2006, especially in pure technical efficiency value. But in 2007, it is different from the results of 2005 and 2006. The results show that the average efficiency values except the pure technical efficiency value of branches established before 1991 are better than the average efficiency values of branches established after 1991.
