An three-week experiment was carried out to investigate the effcts of applying interactive whiteboard in teaching numerical and geometrical concepts. Subjects were sixty sixth graders at the same elementary school in Taichung. They were divided into the experiment group who learned with interactive whiteboard and the control group with traditional blackboard. According to the result of final exam of first semester, both the experiment and the control group are classified into the high and low achievement groups. Two-way (experiment by achievement) MANCOVA had been used to examine the effects of expeirments after controlled for the previous mathematics achievements. The results of the experiment were follows: 1、No significant interaction or main effects had been found for the numerical concepts.. 2、There was a significant main effect of experiment, but not of the achievement group or interaction for the geometric concepts.. 3、Applying interactive whiteboard would help students to understand the geometric misconcepts.. Finally, according to the results of this research, some suggestions about integrating Interactive whiteboard into teaching were proposed for teachers and further research.
