Although it is short to develop, the record industry expanded vigorous, so that the academic schools compete and criticize free and active; works in the period were rich amount and high quality, most of all, the creation technique of lyrics had their unique style. Consequently, this thesis will regard the lyric of Taiwanese songs as literary texts; analyze the consonance, structure, and metaphor rhetoric, then interpret the important and meaning in the process of Taiwanese popular songs from the creation of Taiwanese popular songs during the Japanese Colonial Era. In the consonance of lyric, to analyze the rhymes from the statistical data help us to comprehend the using manner of rhyme in the Japanese Colonial Era. It can find, although it effected by New-vernacular Literature movement, it emerged different words lyric, the using manner of rhyme and the words using of rhyme still reserved many characters of natural Taiwanese popular songs, to probe further about the emotion- sound of it and the efficiency of the usage of “lyric repetition and parallelism.” In the part of lyric structure, it is because of the volume was limited and the effect of traditional narrating and singing arts, Taiwanese popular songs reserved the characters of oral literature. The triadic-type lyric became the main stream of creation style. After the transformation of political power in 1945, this kind of creation style still become the target for writers to learn and imitate. In the metaphor rhetoric of lyric, we can find the “flowers” using in lyric means some kind of male gaze or the concerned with women for male during the Japanese Colonial Era. In addition, using the objects we familiar are common to find in the works, for instance, the animals, the plants, or the natural phenomena. This metaphor rhetoric commonly use in the Japanese Colonial Era is also used in modern times Taiwanese popular songs. The Taiwanese popular songs of the Japanese Colonial Era, inheriting the rhyme, the repetition scansion of natural ballad, and combining with the story-telling skill of Taiwanese Ballades, the triadic-type lyrics became the main stream. These unique forms, such as “triadic-type lyrics,” “the metaphor of flower,” and “the repetition of per paragraph” affect Taiwanese songs deeply from before to present. It can be said that the created form of Taiwanese popular songs in the Japanese Colonial Era play an important role in the history of songs.
