Description
Summary:碩士 === 東吳大學 === 中國文學系 === 99 === The Wang family from Fushan of Shandong Province was a family of great status from the end of Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. They have held positions within the government and have written countless books. Among the family members are Wang Zu-Yuan and Wang Yi-Rong, a father and a son, that has great interest in the collection and studies of ancient artifacts and epigraphy. Wang Zu-Yuan is well-known in the history of martial art with the writing of《Nei Gong Tu Shuo》;Wang Yi-Rong once appealed to the Emporer to initiate a project on the revision of 《Si Ku Quan Shu》. Wang Yi-Rong is well-known for being the first person to identify that Oracle bone scripts are originated from the Shang dynasty. He set the foundation of Oracle bone scripts research and opened a new chapter in Chinese Academic. Two years after the discovery of the Orcale bone scripts (1900A.D.) he was sacrificed during the invasion of Eight Nation Alliance before he was able to drill deeper into the research of Oracle bone scripts. Despite the increasing number of researchers and scholars studying collections or book series, nothing came close to Wang and his research on《Tian Rang Ge Cong Shu》. This collection from Wang Zu-Yuan was initially meant to educate his descendants. One of his sons, Wang Yi-Rong decided to picked up the research of the series, and started helping his father to collect the different series of literature.《Tian Rang Ge Cong Shu》took them more than 20 years to complete and is the result of their hardship, time and effort. One of their collection named 《Pu Yang Huang Yu Shi Ji》is a more superior edition as compared to what is found within Emperor Qian-Long’s《Si Ku Quan Shu》. The Korean writing《Dong Gu Wen Cun》is the only woodblock - printed edition worldwide. According to the《Revised Si Ku Quan Shu catalogue’s summary》, 《Tian Rang Ge Cong Shu》has the following characteristic: It has complete collection on the creation, intonation of Chinese characters with the focus on intonation. The Wangs also collected a wide variety of local arts and writings, which had influenced modern day famous scholar Wang Xian-Tang among many others. The title of this research is named「The Wangs - Father and Son of Fushan with their《Tian Rang Ge Cong Shu》」, shares the same reason as「The Wangs of Gaoyou」: To pay tribute to The Wangs father and son of Fushan for what they have done for their selfless sacrifice and morality in academic and woodblock printed writings over the past hundred years. These good deeds went without the knowledge of most people and this research is also to raise awareness on the Wang family of Fushan.
