Routing protocol in the past would to select the path with the minimum hop as data transmission path. However, the path with the minimum hop will cause the distance between two neighbor nodes in the path close to the limit of the communication range. The neighbor nodes will easy move out of communication range to break the path. Upon the broken path takes place, the transmission path must be reconstructed to cause more power consumption. In this paper, we proposed a routing protocol method to improve DSR to establish an energy efficient path. We will establish an energy efficient path with more hop counts to reduce node distance such that two neighbor nodes will not easily move out of communication range to break the path. In order to construct a path with more hop counts, our algorithm will establish the waiting time according to the transmission distance between nodes such that the destination can wait the request package through the path with more hop counts. After the waiting time at destination node reached, it replies only the request packet through the path with the most hop counts to source node.
