The display quality of LCD depends on the backlight module. How to get a better display quality (high-brightness, high uniformity) that is important for designers. This thesis examines the irradiance uniformity of LCD by the changes in the area-dot density of the light guide plate (LGP). And the microstructure in the LGP is focused on the 3D circular pattern. Simulations show that in the absence of optical compensation film the uniformity of light through the light guide plates size 3.5 inches and 30inches out of reach 86% and 80%, respectively.
