| Summary: | 碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 金融與風險管理系碩士班 === 99 === It was expected that the economic benefit of tourism in Taiwan could have efficiently developed since Taiwan widely opened up the opportunity for Chinese tourists to visit from July in 2008. However, it is still a controvertible issue whether the economic results of all the hotels have the tendency to increase in Taiwan. This study aims to probe into the achievement of the tourist hotels in Taiwan after opening to Chinese tourist till now. With Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), this research tends to investigate the development of the international tourism both before and after the open policy in order to scrutinize the influence of the policy on Taiwan tourism, and also survey the potential problems of the management of all the international tourist hotels. This study is supposed to provide business operators a reference. Based on the result of this study, the comparison of scales of international series hotels between 2007 and 2009, before and after the access restriction to Chinese business, is mostly decreasing. Overall, the average in the technical efficiency of the international tourist hotels is 0.8768, and 0.9560 in the scale efficiency, which demonstrates that the main reason of being unproductive is the inefficiency in technique. Most international tourist hotels can do some changes in operation and management; they should reduce the waste of resources in order to improve their business performance.
