One important requirement for MIMO antenna is good isolation between antennas. Usually, it is difficult to integrate multiple antennas closely in a small and compact mobile handset while maintaining good isolation between them. To increase the isolation between antennas is very important for design MIMO antenna. Two designs of compact planar antenna for multiple inputs multiple outputs (MIMO) system are proposed for 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz WLAN application. In 5 GHz for WLAN system the antenna structure consists of a open slot antenna and two dipole antennas with dimension of 23×23 mm2 and added inverted-U shaped slit to increase the isolation among them below -15 dB. And the design of 2.4 GHz for WLAN hand-held device, the antenna structure consists of a open slot antenna and two monopole antennas with dimension of 60×18.5 mm2.
