Summary: | 碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 資訊傳播系 === 99 === The development of network and information technology improves human’s life and also changes the way people read. Apple Company launched a tablet PC named iPad in 2010. The iPad enhances the development of the low growth tablet PC market and gets an advantage of the opportunity to enter the e-reader market. Recently, iPad is gotten much attention by the other computer’s companies. Those companies want to develop a new type of tablet PC that is similar to iPad. According to research reports, students are important potential users of e-reader in Taiwan, especially university students. Thus, it is worth to explore how to improve university students’ intention of accepting tablet PC for academic reading. In the past, Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) was often used in research regarding the acceptance of IT products. Thus, in this study, we propose an integrated model based on UTAUT, Management Information System (MIS) and learning literatures to examine the determinants of using tablet PC for university students’ academic reading. The results indicated that cognitive absorption positively influenced behavioral intention of using tablet PC for academic reading.
