The annual output of tea increased to 16780 metric tons in 2009 and the tea market in Taiwan has been gradually expanding. In recent years, because environmental and health consciousness has gradually improved, the government has started to promote organic agriculture. However, there are still some tea farmers who use chicken dung as their main manure fertilizer. The use of chicken dung causes a big pollution problem. So how can this problem are solved to stop using chicken dung and instead use organic fertilizer. This change is the most important goal in developing organic agriculture. In our study, we use two-factor analysis of the Taguchi method to examine the differences between using chicken dung and organic fertilizer, and the effect on tea production. We also test use chemical fertilizers. This study is mainly to examine whether the kinds of fertilizers and fertilizing time influence the tea production. The results indicated that fertilizers and fertilizing time did not significantly affect tea production. Therefore, we suggested that farmers use organic fertilizer to fertilize tea field.
