Description
Summary:碩士 === 亞洲大學 === 經營管理學系碩士班 === 99 === The telecommunications is one of the prime support services needed for rapid growth and modernization of various sectors of the economy. One of the most critical preconditions for the success of these services is to be based on sound business models. Especially today, in the dawn of the networked economy, the concept of business model is not a theoretical tool but a prerequisite for success. However, despite the extensive use, and sometimes misuse, there is still some ambiguity concerning the exact meaning of this concept, which results in a diversity of definitions and a confusion in terminology. In theoretical part of this thesis new pattern of business model concept is developed on the basis of reviewing the existing literature concerning business models and other related concepts by different authors. In the main part of this thesis business models of two telecommunications companies were explored using newly developed framework in theoretical part. Leading telecom operators of Taiwan and Mongolia were selected for this study. In a given industry we may see several competing firms with fundamentally different business models. Therefore the business models of the operators are examined in order to find out if there are any similar attributes in the business models which can be ground for their leadership. In the end, after examining the business models some common factors were discovered as well as viability of the business models are explained.
