And, under the social trend of “the presence of new immigrants”, I tried to find more ways to show the urban transformation and regeneration, and ways of making more contact with foreign groups. Therefore, the urban space would be full of diversity and richness. Defining the former railway station where the new immigrants gathered as the observing area, I observed the interaction between new immigrants and local students studied in cram school. By integrating the overlapping needs and behavior, I can find the relationship between the foreign and local, restructure the architectural space, and design the indirect and open links to connect the platform of foreign and local. Thus, the separation of the TWO (new immigrants – Taiwanese, foreign culture - local culture, now - future) would be disturbed. In terms of space structure and layout, I deconstructed the interface of the ambiguous and vague relationship between the TWO according to their needs and behavior, and arranged the program as layout in dot pattern so that there would be more interrelationships in ribbon pattern when the TWO act in the architectural space. Finally, the concept of “GROUND ZERO”, the influence in radial pattern, penetrating into the urban environment metaphorically and combining the TWO again. So, I wish I could improve the link between the decay of old urban area and the presence of new immigrants, and draw closer furthermore. Meanwhile, the implantation of foreign culture blurs our prejudice to new immigrants and diversifies possibilities of the urban. Wen-Liang Kuo Chang-Hsiu Lin 郭文亮 林昌修 2011 學位論文 ; thesis 68 zh-TW
