Based on the resource mobilization theory, this study analyzed the initiation and the development of Taiwan Life Education as a process of social movement and tried to understand how did the core members obtain necessary resources to initiate and sustain the movement. What kind strategies and actions did the members take to adapt to the available resources change? Moreover, how did the change of available resources promote the establishment of the Taiwan Life Education Association? Utilizing the qualitative design, the data were collected through the interviews of key figures of funding members, the documents of the Taiwan Life Education Association, and other governmental and scholars’ publications. The result of this study showed that the crucial factors promoting the initiation of the Taiwan Life Education were human resources, social networks, financial resources, and organizational strategies. This study reveals that social networks among funding members and between funding members and educational administration officials and scholars are the most important resources to link other resources to originate Taiwan Life Education and establish the organization of the Taiwan Life Education Association.
