Some games have attractive plots, interesting characters, however, because the interface design is too complicated or irrational, players are difficult to be immersed into the games. This study investigated the mental workload of online game players in three designs of interfaces with different demands of mental workload. In this study, the interfaces were analyzed by multiple resource theory and divided into three levels according to total task interference value. The research was conducted through measuring the player’s mental workload and performance through the different game interfaces and looking for the differences in the mental workload and performance. Players filled in the NASA-TLX questionnaire after they finished the game in order to measure their subjective mental workload scores. The performance of the game was calculated by the proportion of a player’s attack contribution in the game. Afterwards, the data was analyzed to find out if players'' mental workloads were affected by the levels of interface. Results showed that the interface levels affected player’s mental workload and performance. This result can be used as a reference in designing interface.
