Description
Summary:碩士 === 淡江大學 === 資訊與圖書館學系碩士班 === 99 === This thesis aims to examine the situation of information centers in Taiwan that offer corporate information services as well as the information behavior of the information professionals. A number of public libraries in the United States, United Kingdom, and China already provide corporate information services; however, public libraries in Taiwan do not offer equivalent service yet. The study adopts in-depth interviews to interview information professionals in four information centers in Taiwan to understand their corporate information services, including service processes, charging systems, and methods of evaluating customer satisfaction. In the meantime, information professionals’ information needs, information sources and channels, and the difficulties encountered during the information services are examined. Furthermore, based on the results of the study, suggestions are offered for public libraries who would like to implement corporate information service. The suggestions and conclusions are as follow: 1.Public libraries need to collect substantial professional business information in order to satisfy librarians’ and organizations’ information needs. 2.Librarians need to quip themselves with knowledge and skills in business management related areas to meet the challenging inquiries. 3.Before implementing corporate information servicers, public libraries need to evaluate their human resources carefully. 4.When implementing corporate information services, a standardized service process for providing corporate information services is suggested. 5.When implementing corporate information services, a clear charging system should be established.
