碩士 === 臺北市立教育大學 === 教育學系碩士班 === 99 === The main target of this study was focus on Yuan Ts’ai’s Shin Fan, a famous family instruction in Southern Song Dynasty. Yuan Ts’ai’s Shin Fan was noted as sub- Yen-Shin chia-hsun. The author Yuan Ts’ai served as prefectures in several counties and witnessed various aspects of human life. While serving as a magistrate in Le-ch’ing county, he wrote the book Yuan Ts’ai’s Shin Fan. He wanted to enlighten people by this book and then people could engage in fewer disputes and avoid legal troubles. Yuan Ts’ai’s Shin Fan consisted of three chapters：Getting Along with Relatives, Improving Personal Conduct, and Managing Family Affairs. The aim of this study was to investigate the content of Yuan Ts’ai’s Shin Fan and its implications in education, and noticed its true value to the current education system. In the first part, the researcher investigated the biography of Yuan Ts’ai and his writings. In order to understand the major aims of the writings, the researcher analyzed the social background in Song Dynasty, including family structure, finance and taxation system, land system and social interrelationship. Then researcher focused on how this book’s transmission and appreciation was. In the second part (chapter 3 and 4), the researcher analyzed the writing through two topics：cultivating oneself and putting family in order to understand the essence of Yuan Ts’ai’s Shin Fan overall. In the topic of cultivating oneself, the researcher sorted it into three different views, including fatalism, morality and the ways of the world. It was about to highlight how to promote one’s ethic and how to maintain a relationship with others. In the topic of putting family in order, researcher sorted it into ethics in family and the principles of manage a family. It was about to discuss how to maintain the order of a family, and how to manage family affairs. At last, in chapter five, the researcher inquired Yuan Ts’ai’s Shin Fan’s implications and true values in education according to its contents, and gave a general comment on it. There were three very important values in education in Yuan Ts’ai’s Shin Fan’s implications, including family education、social education and life education. Essentially, this book provided many notices to the current education system. From the point of researcher’s view, this book was not only a family instruction of moral suasion, but also contained concerns to disadvantaged minority, the thought of retribution, the way to maintain family’s peace and the attitude to get along with people combined individual and social inclination.
