It is the crystallization of the artist’s diverse life experiences, expressing different souls and voices. An artist’s work can only exude life energy and build rapport if it is created with true feelings. The land we step on everyday nurtures life, allows us to grow and gives us beautiful sceneries. Unfortunately, selfish and ignorant humans fail to cherish it, carelessly destroying and even willfully violating it, leading to a series of disasters in recent years, invariably causing severe death and casualties. If we still do not co-exist peacefully with nature, what other more terrifying disaster could occur? Learning to co-exist with nature in a mutually beneficial way is an issue that deserves careful thought. After several experiments, I have found the creative form and method appropriate for the current stage, and I have even attempted to use such image to reflect my concern for our land. The focus of each chapter in the thesis is as follows: The first chapter “Introduction”, based on motive, method and purpose of my work, will explain my personal thoughts and continuity of my creative work, as well as how I began with traditional scholarly paintings, received academic training and finally devoted myself to lyrical abstract ink-painting. The second chapter “Ideal of Creation” is an analysis of how I have progressed from the concrete to the abstract, my attempt at borrowing from Western style to enhance the Chinese style, and who inspired my thoughts and brought about changes in my painting, resulting in the look and method that differ from traditional style. The third chapter “Style Analysis and material” This chapter also explains the common characteristics of the composition, ink and color, brush technique and medium in my painting. The fourth chapter “Series of Paintings” is divided into two parts, i.e. imagery of landscape, and lyrical abstract style, because the change in artistic style is a slow progression rather than a great leap. explains my emotions and the method used while creating each painting, and the uniqueness of each painting. The fifth chapter “Conclusion” is a self-examination and outlook for the research, including my own goals, and my mission and commitment as a contemporary inkpainter.
