This design includes shift register, data latch, counter, digital logic circuit, switching register string, operation amplifier which has a high voltage output. The column and row’s HV outputs are switching twice in a clock period. The voltage difference between the two terminals of the cholesterol liquid crystal determines the gray level, which is controlled by a 4-bit DAC. The proposed cholesterol liquid crystal driver was simulated using TSMC 0.25μm HV process model with a 5V supply and 60V supply. The HV OPAMP is configured as an non-inverting amplifier with the gain controlled by the external resistors. The reference voltages of row’s driver are provided externally for flexibility.
