The results of this study, thus, are expected to offer suggestion and reference for future policies of healthy lifestyle of teachers. In terms of research methodology, questionnaires were used and distributed randomly in different levels to the sample base in Kaohsiung. County. In total, 600 copies were distributed in 27 districts of Kaohsiung County with 546 effective ones returned (91.6%). In addition, descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson product moment correlation were introduced for data test and analysis. The two major findings of this study are as follows: First, there is no significant difference in healthy lifestyle awareness and behavior among genders, educational background, and school types teachers are working for but male teachers focus more on sports and female teachers are more concerned with body nutrition and disease prevention. In terms of teachers from different educational backgrounds, teachers graduating from teachers colleges perform better in “awareness of good sleep and regular life” and “self-caring behavior” while teachers holding BA degrees from general universities outperform others. For types of schools that teachers are working for, there has been no significant variance found. Secondly, elementary school teachers with different marital status and at different age generations showed significant differences of healthy lifestyle awareness and behavior. Among them, teachers born between 1951-1960 outperform other age generations in “healthy lifestyle awareness” such as “balanced nutrition,” “self-caring behavior,” and “awareness of good sleep and regular life.” In terms of “health lifestyle awareness,” including “self caring behavior,” “health behavior,” and “prevention from harmful healthy behavior,” teachers born between 1951-1960 outperform other age generations. The above indicates the older the primary school teachers are, the more likely they will perform better in awareness and healthy lifestyle knowledge and behavior. For teachers with different marital status, on “healthy lifestyle awareness,” teachers who are married were found to have better “awareness of balanced nutrition” as well as on “healthy lifestyle behavior,” they outperform those who are single in “self-caring behavior.” The results indicate teachers who are married possess better nutrition knowledge and are more active in self-caring due to family responsibilities. The purpose of this study is to investigate healthy lifestyle awareness and behavior of elementary teachers in different generations since healthy behavior of teachers not only benefits teachers themselves but also is one of the assets to school education and serves as a good model to the healthy behavior of students. The two major findings of this study are as follows:
First, there is no significant difference in healthy lifestyle awareness and behavior among genders, educational background, and school types teachers are working for but male teachers focus more on sports and female teachers are more concerned with body nutrition and disease prevention.
