To enhance students’ learning to increase employability and competitiveness, reducing the average decline in the quality of students is an important issue. Some experts recommended that the understanding and stimulate student motivation is an important factor in enhancing student learning. Therefore, through the implementation of learning outcomes assessment, quality control can be reached and then to enhance learning. As the rapid development of information technology, resulting in 1980 infants born after generation grow up in the full context of a variety of new IT equipment. Some scholars said that the generations of young people are digital natives, while born before 1980 which are higher education teachers call digital immigrants. Generation of digital native students in the learning motivation and learning effectiveness are different from digital immigrants? And the unemployment rate is generally high in the current market, whether through the developing of core competencies, so that the digital native generation can enhance their learning motivation and thus improve learning effectiveness? The study found that the digital native generation student’ learning motivation to develop the core capabilities has a positive impact. Learning motivation has a positive impact on learning effectiveness. Develop core competencies have a positive impact on learning effectiveness. Through the intermediary effect of core competencies, learning motivation has a positive impact on learning effectiveness. In this study, the management implications include: (1) The dimensions of digital native generation of student motivation to learn include the external expectations and desire to learn, self-development and stimulation, social relationships, career progression, social services; among these which external expectations and desire to learn, self-development and stimulation are the most important variables. (2) The core competencies which found in the students of department of information management are problem found, data collection, problem solving, word report archive and production, pressure and emotional control, application of knowledge management has a considerable level, however programming and information system maintenance capabilities are relatively weak. (3) Enhanced external expectations and desire to learn, career progression and social services are more help after learning motivation of students to develop core competencies and thus increase student learning effectiveness.
