碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 全球運籌管理研究所碩士班 === 99 === In recent years, the ideals of green sustainability and Transit Oriented Development (TOD) have been gradually emphasized. Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) has been implemented abroad for up to thirty years. BRT cannot only save time, reduce the extent of air pollution, increase the efficiency of public transportation, but also can be quickly constructed and at a lower cost. Taichung city is constructing a BRT for its population who use the public transit. This study discusses the related questions on bus stop location planning and decision making for BRT in Taichung. The study constructed a mathematical model using the multi-objective decision-making method. The results meet both of the objectives which were to maximize the amount of people covered and to minimize the transportation cost by using the heuristic approach and providing suggestions for the government.
