The polymer structures and molecular weight are investigated using FTIR spectroscopy and GPC. The porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is used as a supporting membranes to reinforce the polymerized PBI–PPA blend and prepare PBI-PPA/PTFE composite membrane (thickness 40-55 µm). The PBI-PPA/PTFE composite membranes have been fabricated for 160 ℃high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells.
