Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 機械工程學系 === 99 === In recent Taiwan, iron-sheet building is the most common and cheapest housing building types that can be seen everywhere. Fire accidents often occur in this kind of building and cause heavy casualties and property losses. Therefore, it is important to do fire research for reducing or avoiding similar disasters. This case is taking the fire accident of a 5-story old apartment with iron sheet rooftop hut located in Yingge District Taipei City as the research object. Child playing with fire was suspected as the fire cause, causing death of two children aged three and four year old tragedy. This study uses Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) software developed by NIST (the U.S. National Bureau of Standards Fire Laboratory) to simulate and analyze the computer simulation of physical phenomena, and the distribution and changes of temperature and CO concentration as well as air layer height in the fire scene. Then explore the impact of different changes of parameters on the fire escape time. The simulation results hope to be useful for fire prevention design in peacetime.
