碩士 === 長庚大學 === 工業設計學系 === 100 === Recently, the population structure has gone out of the balance, and the population aging problem in Taiwan has become a serious problem, just like in many other developed countries. Aged people have to face the degradation of their physical condition and also the change in their current life style and social interaction. Many studies had indicated that aged people can overcome these limitations with the support of technology. In this study we combined both qualitative research and the acceptance of technology to evaluate the performance of Sharetouch, a technological device that can increase social interaction among elderly people in an elderly neighborhood. This study interviewed 50 elderly people, who lived in an elderly neighborhood about, their current social interaction and requirements, as well as their acceptance of newly technology, the sharetouch. These respondents had great needs and expectations regarding the new technology and its social interaction benefits. They provided important responses and indicated other user requirements for further development to enrich the social lives of the elderly in an elderly neighborhood.
