碩士 === 中華大學 === 企業管理學系碩士班 === 100 === Due to internationalization and development of science and technology in recent years, the industry is also subjected to a structure change Taiwan's economic growth is rapid, the regional economic structure changes, the regional economic structure transformation from the original industrial services to business services. However, due to the flow of population and unequal distribution of industrial activities between different zones, it causes the unbalanced development between cities and countries. Kaohsiung City is situated the Asian and Pacific aerial and maritime traffic key position, the industrial foundation is strong. and Export Processing Zone establish in the early, steel and petrochemical plants and other large-scale investment in heavy industry for the Ten Major Construction Projects, as well as the construction of the Kaohsiung Harbor the restructuring in 1979 for the municipality. The end of 2010, the total population of Kaohsiung City in municipality about 277 million, Kaohsiung metropolitan area is one of the greatest metropolises in Taiwan, the future development is worth of discussion. The purpose of this study is to analyze the population and employment of Kaohsiung metropolitan area by economic-based analysis to provide for government policy-making. In the present study, regional economics theory and economics-based analysis method are explained first, and the method of location quotient (L.Q.) is applied to analyze of the basic industries in the metropolitan area. Consequently, population and employment multiplier of Kaohsiung metropolitan area are estimated by econometric methods which are based on the study of the development in this region. The main results of this study are summarized in the following:(1) Kaohsiung County and Kaohsiung direction of development is different, Kaohsiung County suitable for the development of agriculture and industry, while Kaohsiung suitable for the development of the Business and Services.(2)Employment multiplier effect analysis showed that, after the merger of Kaohsiung metropolitan area as a whole, the development of business can effectively enhance the Kaohsiung metropolitan area ‘s total employment population.(3) The multiplier effects of the population analysis, the Kaohsiung metropolitan area need to develop the business in order to effectively improve the total population of the Kaohsiung metropolitan area.
